Raising Money The Yummy Way: Fundraising Cookies
Many not-for-profits provide valuable programs within the communities that they serve. Often these services are provided to individuals and families who may not be able to afford these needed services. Therefore, in order for the not-for-profit to raise the needed financial resources they have to engage in an aggressive fundraising program. Some of these fundraising efforts can include asking for outright donations, the writing of grants and conducting special events. Often these special events include golf tournaments, walk-a-thons, dinners, raffles, auctions, etc. One additional fundraising event is the selling of items in which a certain part of the proceeds go back to the not-for-profit to help with the provision of services. One such effort is raising money through the selling of fundraisi

What's The Value of Your Reputation?
If you have high quality support services and polices, and your employee satisfaction surveys show that your employees are happy, does that mean your customers actually experience results that match or exceed your brand promise? Is the culture of your employee base consistent with the values of your company? Are different employee groups delivering quite different experiences to your customers, like sales and service appearing to speak a different language? These inconsistencies create disjointed experiences for customers who will be constantly adjusting to your company’s different styles, behaviors, standards of performance, and promises. This makes it very difficult to develop a sense of affinity and loyalty with your company. The Service-Profit Chain developed by Heskett, Sasser and Schl
After we've read all the advice, listened to the Job Fair lectures, and heard what our friends and co-workers tell us, it is still terribly difficult to go out and do things that are really uncomfortable.

Mailing out resumes and submitting applications on line is so safe. We're not risking ourselves because it is impersonal and anonymous. We know, deep down, that the chance of a positive response is minimal but we tell ourselves that we're doing something positive about our situation.

The real key to finding a great position is networking. We've all heard it a thousand times and we know in our hearts that it's the most fruitful route to pursue. But unless you're a super-gregarious and thick-skinned sales type, it is much harder to do than it sounds. A Landscape Business Is One Business That You May Want To Be Concerned With
A landscape business is one business that you may want to be concerned with. In the spring, summer, and fall, you will have plenty of business, however, the winter gets very slow. You will need to plan what you can do to make sure that the business can grow and yet make it through the winter season. Some landscape businesses don’t have to worry about the winter because they aren’t really hit with a hard winter. That is something that you should think about, as well as other things. When it comes to any business, you have to have a business plan or layout before you invest any money or ask anyone to invest money into the business. When it comes to a business plan, you have to cover every possible aspect of the business. You will have to consider what you would do in cases of winter or off-season

Brand Strategy - Brand Identity Guru
If you could have the secret recipe and all the manufacturing facilities of Coca Cola but not the Coca Cola brand—or have its famous brand but no facilities—which would you choose? It’s not a trick question. But it demonstrates the power of the brand. Walk into any bank and say “hi I’m Coca Cola, how about a loan”!Let me ask another way. If you could have all the products or services your company produces, but not its name and brand, are you confident they would sell? The truth is, people don’t only buy products and services. They buy promises and reputations—what brands represent.I’m the Brand Identity Guru. I’ve spent most of my professional life helping companies tap into the strength of their brands. Developing a strong brand identity is critical to any company’s success. Integratin

Tips For Finding Free Resumes Online
The Internet is an excellent resource for recruiters. Unfortunately, it is very expensive to use job boards that do not necessarily find you the right candidates. The good news is there are many free Resume Databases online that will supply you with hundreds of free candidates. You can also use Free College and Alumni resumes found on University websites, or Free Resume Blaster Sites [ they send you resumes after you sign up and specify the types of resumes you need.]The top search engines I use are: http://www.google.com, and http://www.yahoo.com. There are several others but these keep me busy enough. Once you choose one of the above search engines, you will need to select key words for a Boolean search. Most keyword searchable computer databases support Boolean searches. I have been succes

    Committed to Nothing
My uncle recently retired from a large manufacturing company after 40 years of service! This is no doubt a great accomplishment, and I congratulate him for this achievement. However it really does cause me to wonder. Could I ever work for the same company for 40 years?Let’s just put this into perspective. My uncle retired in 2006 which means he started working in 1966. Let’s put this in modern terms. I graduated from college in 2003 and was very fortunate to land a job at a great company in December of 2002 before I graduated. If I were to stay with my current company for 40 years I would retire in the year 2042. Needless to say I would be vested in my 401k and probably have about 200 vacation days. Is it very likely for me to stay with my current company for 40 years? No. Does
and thick-skinned sales type, it is much harder to do than it sounds. Beyond the comfort zone of friends and family, reaching out to acquaintances and circulating at meetings and events is highly personal. We are putting ourselves on the line, making rejections or just plain disinterest far more difficult to brush off than a standard "Thanks, but no thanks" form letter after a resume submission.

We justify our actions when we see a card that says they are keeping our resume on file for future openings - there's still a chance. My company alone boasts of having 80,000 resumes in their database. If you're in there, what are the chances of rising to the top? Somewhere between winning the lottery and picking the winners of every race on a day's card!
