Stock Market Movements - Short Term vs. Long Term
The movements of the stock market can be very dynamic and swift or very steady and methodical. This often depends on the time frame you are referencing. The shorter the time reference, the more choppy and irrational stock movements appear. The longer the time frame the more smooth a stock's price movement becomes. The reason for this is that over time stocks tend to perform in line with their financial condition. If a stock has had consistent and steady growth, the stock's price will usually follow as time passes. However, in the short term a stock may perform much differently. To find out why, let's look at what determines a stock's price. A stock price at any given time is simply the equilibrium price at which someone is willing to buy a stock for and a

Quick Tip - Shushing a Loud Cell Phone Talker
Janet, one of my clients from Chicago, recently asked my advice on dealing with people who talk loudly on their cell phones while in public. I know I’ve been guilty of this offense before as my voice tends to project very well and sometimes I forget that I don’t need to speak very loudly for my phone to pick it up.Sometimes, like when you’re in a movie theater, any kind of loud cell phone talking needs to be quieted immediately and the most direct way is the best. But often in public, you may feel a bit awkward telling a stranger to mute him or herself. The other day at the gym, I found myself in this second scenario. I was on a treadmill with my headphones on. Despite the noise of the machine and my music, I could easily make out the cell phone conve
From our deconstruction of hundreds of Hollywood blockbusters at www.managing-creativity.com/

The Hero's Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the Hollywood movies we have deconstructed are based on this template.

Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.

    The Hero's Journey:

    a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.

    b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.

    c) Interpreted metaphorically, laterally and symbolically, allows an infinite number of varied stories to be created.

Permanent Insurance: Whole, Universal and Variable
There are life insurance policies that benefit you in two ways: they pay in the event of death and they allow you to accrue tax-deferred savings. It can be a bonus if you are in need of insurance anyway, but you shouldn't buy an insurance policy as a way to save money. There are better, more economic ways to save. The most common form of life insurance is term insurance. It doesn't build savings; instead, you are basically renting a policy. You pay a fixed premium for a preset amount of years, like five, 10 or 20 years. Your premium remains the same each year. If you die during the period, the insurance pays you the amount of life insurance that has been promised. Once the term is up, the coverage ends. All promises between you and the company are cancelled. If

    Flood Insurance Benefits Outweigh Costs
Thousands of under-insured homeowners in the path of Hurricane Katrina learned first-hand the financial devastation of flooding. Every home in the United States has a one in four chance of experiencing some type of flood damage every three decades according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). With the increase in global warming, more intense storms with their severe flooding will alter the financial future of those with no or minimal insurance for rising waters.Flood zones are categorized by FEMA by their likelihood to experience flooding based on a once-in-a-century model that states a flood having a one-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any year. Areas rated an “A” are at the highest risk and all potential mortgage lenders offering

    How To Increase eBay Profits
Some sell on eBay to clean out their garage or attic. Some sell to make a little extra money here and there. But for some, eBay represents a chance to create a second income or start a home business. Product choice is important. But to really increase profit you must know how to increase the number and amount of bids per item. An eBay seller must maximize each product's profit margin. This article describes techniques to make as much profit as possible.1. Sell like products at the same time. Bidders look to see what else you have for sale they might be interested in. Combined shipping saves postage for the buyer. Packing in the same box saves time and packing costs for the seller.2. Bundle a less desirable item with a more desirable item inc
