    American Work Ethic
Before we get into the problematic issue with the current state of the American work ethic; I wish to apologize in advance for my bluntness and comments in this article. Now then about the American work ethic, it is lacking in many regards and I wish it were not so. Many say that they are hard workers and really do their best and that their generation is hard working and they have learned this hard work ethic from their father and grandfather and they had learned it prior to that from their fathers and grandfathers.Indeed this is what everyone tells me, but everyone does not have good work ethic in America and so many who claim to be hard workers are completely lacking. You see, I started a company and built it up to a good size franchise system serving 110 cities and franchises in 23 states. And my comments are what I see. Chances are you are one of the baby boomers and so we share age groups, as I am a “Last Year Baby Boomer” myself. I too accepted those American promises to my belief system and commit to doing my best at everything I do. Work hard and do what ever it takes and yes those are “Lofty goals I guess?”Are you personally a hard worker? This is not a hard question, so you can answer it with a “Yes” or “No” and do not bother lying to me, as personall

Truth #1: You are not a cookie. You are an individual, and incredibly unique. What's right for "everyone" isn't necessarily right for you. There is no cookie cutter solution. It drains the well. Eventually, you're going to start pulling up dust in the bottom of the bucket.Truth #4: You will never be someone else half as well as you can be you. It's simple math. Being you in your career means you have more energy to excel. You don't have to use up half your energy just to maintain the status quo.Truth #5: If your job is bad now, more time won't m

What is a Limited Liability Corporation?
A limited liability company or LLC is an organization owned by one or more individuals or corporations. The members own membership interests in the company and not shares. LLC is a recently developed type of legal entity. For many entrepreneurs, it is the ideal choice, as it has the tax advantages of the limited partnership and the limited liability element of corporations. The LLC is a separate legal entity and liabilities do not pass on to the members. The management and organization of the LLC are flexible and governed by the Membership Agreement. Owners may manage the LLC, where all owners vote on all issues or managers may manage it. The owners elect one or more managers, much like a board of directors. These managers manage the business, freeing the owners from voting on every operational detail. The IRS does not recognize the LLC as a separate category. A single member LLC has to file as sole proprietorship while the multi-member LLC may chose to be taxed as corporations or partnerships. The reason for the popularity of the LLC is that it caters to the demands of the accountants and attorneys. The LLC is a pass-through entity. This means that there is no double taxation, as with corporations. Accountants tend to prefer the LLC, because they are worried abo

Customers - What They Really Want - 6 Secrets of Customer Service
What customers really want can be divided into two areas.Firstly - they want the core service of your business to meet their needs. They expect your product or service to work. If you say you're a plumber, then the customer expects you to fix their leaking pipe. If you say you're an accountant, then they expect you to resolve their tax details. They also expect your product or service to represent value for money. If I buy an expensive pair of winter boots I expect them to keep out the cold and wet and also look good. Naturally if I was to buy a cheaper pair I wouldn't expect them to last as long.Customers expect your after-sales service to be efficient. If my new winter boots start to leak when I wear them for the first time, then I expect the shop to replace them immediately. However, none of this will make customers loyal or cause them to tell others how good you are. They take this core service as a given. You wouldn't see me running around telling people that my new winter boots didn't leak. This is the Second and most important point -What customers really - really - really want and what will make them loyal to your business and say wonderful things about you to other people are:1. Selling for Entrepreneurs - Be Yourself
An entrepreneur has many things to worry during the start-up process. One of the most common requests I receive from people who are starting a new business is to teach them how to sell. For many new entrepreneurs, this is the scarcest part of the process. While this may be intimidating at first, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.Entrepreneurs sell themselves at every stage of the start-up process. Entrepreneurs already know how to sell. They sell their ideas to their family first. Betting their future on a new business takes some convincing. After the family comes the people who will finance the venture. The business owner must make a compelling case in a charming way. Next they sell to vendors. A new business has to convince suppliers to extend credit to an unknown entity. Finally, even a small business will need to find some help. Hiring employees into a start-up requires sales skills. By the time the customer comes into the picture the entrepreneur has already sold to quite a few people. Ultimately, just about every entrepreneur has some sales experience.Begin with the obvious targets. One of the most difficult aspects of selling is identifying the right customers to target. If you don’t pick the right targets you will end up wast
