Insurance Tips to Lower Your Insurance Cost Vertex 150 for example (even if being phased out in Cap) can cover all the Cap repeaters as well as the ham repeaters. If you are like me, you do not delight in buying insurance. We all tend to complain about the cost and what we get for our cash. That being said, we need to buy insurance to protect our family and assets. So here are some insurance buying tips to help make the process a little easier.Take a contrary angle on it. Start by finding out what the policy doesn't shelter. We often act upon what a policy covers but then end up amazed when we make a claim and learn it is not covered. You can read your policy but it's also a good idea to get your insurance agent to read and explain it all to you. The U.S.A.F. calls Cap for an actual mission usually when an airplane is reported overdue or missing or when an emergency locator transmitter E.L.T. is monitored on an a/c vhf frequency. Admittedly, I spoil myself regularly. Manicures, pedicures, Day Spa pampering and other things that are no doubt the norm for many others are enjoyed and necessary for me.Since I spoil myself after working hard, smart and passionately, I have come to expect preferential treatment when I'm spending this hard earned money I make. We are all different with different likes and different habits and credit card companies know this, and have created card fee structures that differ according to peoples habits and circumstances. While a specific card might be perfect for one person, it might not be as desirable for another, and might even hurt that person financially because there habits or circumstances are such that they are incurring fee's that they wouldn't be incurring had they selec Actually I was thinking there might just happen to be some of those here that might have taken part of that training/exercise, out of curiosity. We jump into looking for work in as many directions as we can think of, confident that we will find a suitable position quickly, and move on with our lives.A few weeks pass and we see that we have been pursuing leads willy-nilly and often can't quite remember where we applied and the details of each position.Creating a central organizer for our activities can help assure that we have a clear understanding of where we've been and what we've done, and provides a private resource chart for on-going contacts and re-contacts. Every website can benefit from this newly popular technology. The term 'syndication' is what throws a lot of people off the track. Syndication is like news articles, isn't it?Well it can be. But think of it like this. If you had a bricks-and-mortar store and decided to carry a new product line, how would you let people know? You could advertise of course, but a better and free alternative is to send a news release to the local paper. Their business section may carry your announcement free of charge. Now back to our Well at least I got a dialogue started here now I'll just have to wait and see if there are any Alabama CAP members to join in the discussion. I don't pretend to follow C.A.P Communications closely at all, but I recently did see an article saying that every CAP repeater in the country was getting replaced. The change in repeaters doesn't change my post. But the change to narrow band does. After Oct 2007, all Cap radios must be narrow band, which means the market will be flooded with used personal radios (unless the member is also a ham) The change also means that Cap communications will be severely limited because of the cost of radios that comply with the new standards. Many members can't afford the price of the radios. Would there be any type of grants available to Cap squadrons to help purchase these new compliant radios? If the individuals are required to purchase their own, then yes with the higher cost it will most likely cut down the number of available radios which in turn could severely limit the missions' capabilities. Right now in the Amateur world there is some digital technology that is becoming available and it's quite expensive. Once it is more available the price may come down and just in case anyone is wondering what I'm talking about, it's D-STAR. Cap radios and such, what was/is the reason for changing radios in the first place? Seems like having the H.A.M. radios that can be easily modified for Cap and or M.A.R.S. use would, or should have been the way to continue but then again I guess there are many pros and cons to be conside
