So, how can you avoid some of these pitfalls? In general, if you get cold called by anyone, the best stock investment advice that I can give you is to leave them alone, no matter how appealing, or how plausible the sell is. Many of the people and firms who operate in high pressure sales environments, operate outside the law. And these people usually start with a cold call.If You Are Cold Called, Steer Clear - Rule 1.Remember that the tactics used can be very cunning. It is not unusual for disreputable firms to start gently. They will warm you up with a 2 minute call, which invariably will get you excited at the prospect of making some money, on the basis of a deal "which hasn't come off yet", but they will call you if it does.< Myth: The average male is a hard body. - When a woman is asked what their perfect man would be like 9 out of 10 times the first thought that will come to their mind is the clean cut, pointed jaw, v-shaped body with hard six pack abs, dark skinned, tall and handsome guy. You are probably thinking that around 90% of those males are watching sports on Sundays and Mondays. Survey says – buzz. Wrong answer. Let me put sports and men into perspective for you. Typically young boys are not interested in sports by nature. Societal pressures, stereotypes, and influences from their fathers will push them to “take an interest” in sports. It’s the “boy” thing to do. Wrong answer.I think it’s the dream of every professional to have their business grow by referral only. Imagine not having to cold call or advertise! What a way to grow a business. Can it really be accomplished? Yes it can. In fact, I know a handful of professionals that not only grow their business by referrals, but have SO many potential clients, they need to turn some away!So the question is: If it really DOES work, why haven’t most of us created a business which is filled by referrals? The answer lies in understanding several important issues. Generally, people don’t know how to properly ask for referrals and don’t put in enough effort to create a steady stream of them.Learning How to Ask for Referrals How do most people ask for referrals? Most of the folks I know ask a variation of the question, “Who do you know…?” Here’s how it comes out: • Who do you know who could use my services? • Who do you know who’d like to lower the Let me put sports and men into perspective for you. Since you use the web, you know about phishing scams or should. Some scams are now using fake IRS identification.IRS Wants to Know About Fake Emails Using IRS NameThe IRS has sent out numerous press releases and warning about phishing scams involving tax and IRS logos and fake sites. Now the IRS wants to have a go at hunting down the scam artists. Obviously, it can only do this if it sees the fake emails being sent out. If you receive one of these email messages, the IRS is asking that you forward it to phishing@irs.gov.The IRS does not send unsolicited emails to taxpayers. Indeed, the IRS doesn’t even know your email address, so how could it? When you receive email messages from something @irs.gov, it is a scam trying to fleece your private information in one form or another. Do not respond to these email messages. Instead, forward them to the IRS at the email address pr Ladies, this is the average male so set you mind at ease that the majority of men in this country are not fanatical about sports and your weekend ‘honey do’ lists are safe Myth: Men lie. – Ok. Ladies I will give you this one. Yes, men do lie on a regular basis. There is no excuse for it and I’m not going to tell you different or really justify it. I am going to give you an answer as to why they do. A little peek into the male psyche. Men lie. A lot. Women do too but this is about men and I am not a woman so I can’t give you the reasons why they do. Why do we lie? Sure there are the inexcusable lies such as “I didn’t sleep with her” when you are sitting on Maury and he is holding a DNA test that shows you are the father. No excuse and definitely wrong. But what about the so-called little white lies? Ladies admit it. When you have tried on three outfits and come out and ask him if this one looks good on you what do you expect him to say? That you look fat or it looks ugly on you? If he did, it would probably turn into a fight about how he doesn’t think you look beautiful anymore and that he thinks you are fat or that he doesn’t love you anymore. Followed up with I don’t have anything to wear so we are not going to the party. So to avoid that he may tell you it looks fine. This in turn becomes a fight about how he doesn’t think you look beautiful anymore and that he thinks you are fat or that he doesn’t love you anymore. Followed up with I don’t have anything to wear so we are not going to the party. Yes I repeated myself in the above paragraphs. This is why men lie. They are unsure which way to go. Should they tell you how you really look in that outfit and face a barrage of words about how they don’t care about you? Should they say you look fine, which is four-letter word for some women, and face the same thing? Or should they lie and tell you the outfit looks beautiful on you? I hazard a guess that deep inside, women want that positive affirmation from their man that they still think they are beautiful and they love them even though, also deep inside, the woman knows they do not look good in the dress. Ladies how many times have you asked you man this, “Honey do you want to go to the mall?” This is probably followed by a few moments of silence, which is possibly followed by a question of why you want to go to the mall. This is a stall tactic to give him time to think. Here is what is going through his head: I really don’t want to go wander the mall I would rather stay home and either watch TV read get on the computer or putter around in the garage or yard but she wants me to go and if I say no she is going to be mad or feel like I don’t want to spend time with her that I don’t care about her anymore and am distant from her and there is someone else or there are things I’d would rather do than spend time with her.
