Some six years ago I was walking over the Harbour Bridge in Sydney singing a song to Jesus saying that He was my best friend and was quite emotional in my praise of Him. At the end of the song Jesus asked;
“Am I your best friend Matthew?”
“Yes Lord was my response.”
“What about Rodney, your older brother?”
I was shocked. It was true, my elder brother was my best friend at the time and Jesus was showing me that He wanted a closer relationship.
Over the years that has happened as Jesus has become closer to me than my brother and recently Jesus has told me that I am going to be speaking less and less to my brother.
It’s such as sad thing.
When God puts a call on your life that is huge it just seems to hurt you to speak to people you love about when they don’t believe in you. Jesus has told me that I am entering a stage in my life where I am going to travel just with Him and my Bible. He has told me that I am like Joseph to hold onto my dream and wait for it to be accomplished in my life.
