Credit Policy - Rules For Successful Computer Consultants
Credit policies need to be set to protect yourself from non-payment. If you make sure you have clear credit policies from the start you will reduce your risk of nonpayment. To do this there are a few simple rules you should follow:Rules For Credit PoliciesWith every written credit policy, include two or three sentences that explain credit is granted subject to credit approval. This way if you grant credit you always leave yourself an out if they refuse to give you a credit application, the credit application is incomplete, or you do a credit check on them and they have horrendous credit. We hear it on the news every day. The economy is doing much better, but you and I know budgets for paper and printing are still tight and the increase in postal charges is always a concern. Many designers are still challenged to find more creative ways to maximize their resources.

Reduced page counts and conservative print quantities are just some of the solutions. When it comes to paper, unusual finishes and surfaces, as well as the use of metallics and translucents are adding flair to one-color print jobs.

    Value-Added Excitement
Specialty papers have the ability to add value and excitement to your projects. Whether you are designing a sophisticated fashion campaign or business cards for the local grocer, you want your designs to stand out.

Over the last few years, there has been a growing interest in specialty papers used in print projects. Ethics in Conflict - Building a Strong Foundation
Whether or not a military force (or paramilitary force) is properly equipped to handle crisis situations in an ethical manner is a question that is truly worthy of consideration. Before asking oneself this question, however, it is imperative that leaders are certain that their organizations are grounded upon a solid, impermeable ethical foundation. Ethical conduct simply cannot be expected within an organization that is under pressure if it is not expected when the organization is simply involved in daily, commonplace operations.Police services and the military have enormous powers conferred upon them by th

Investing in China - The Banking Sector
China’s banking sector has traditionally served as a party-controlled feeding trough for its inefficient, unprofitable state-owned enterprises (SOEs), most of which were technically insolvent. The process was simple – extend a loan to an unqualified SOE applicant, then write off the loan as a bad debt when it failed to repay. This situation is beginning to change, and Chinese banks are attracting the attention of foreign banks that are beginning to view them as investment opportunities rather than potential competitors. Nevertheless, China’s banking industry is beset by several problems.1. SOE Lending: The im

Reward Your Employees with Travel Incentives
Reward your Employees with Travel IncentivesMotivating employees, especially highly competitive employees like inside and outside salespersons and telemarketers, can be a challenge. Sure, everyone likes cash, but what if you could offer a incentive that was worth more than cash? That's what travel incentives are all about. What do you think would generate more excitement among your employees; offering $50 to the person who sets the most appointments in one day, or offering a 3 day and 2 nights hotel stay in Hawaii including airfare? I'll bet that you didn't have to think about that for too long. The Haw

Private Labeled Bottled Water and Event Planning
Events are an important part of corporate life. A well planned event can forcefully convey a clear corporate message and engage participants in the respective corporate culture. Most companies and organizations hold events for a number of reasons. Company picnics, holiday parties, new product introductions, sales and planning meetings and annual shareholder's meetings are but a few of the occasions that mark milestones of the organization. Translucents
Now, metallics or iridescents are not only found in opaque papers, but in translucent papers as well. Translucents have come a long way since the days when they were only used as flysheets. Translucent papers make remarkable business cards, invitations and marketing materials on their own.

When I lived in Australia and started my own design studio, I needed a business card. Australia has 18 million inhabitants and only five paper merchants for the entire country. So, paper choices were nowhere near as extensive as in the U.S.

I fell in love with a translucent Edward Dunlop paper with fine, white, slightly embossed stripes. Though the paper was noticeably thinner than the average business card and the price was higher, I took the chance.

Every time I handed out my card, I watched people feel the paper for its stripes and hold it up against the light (yes, it really was a translucent paper). Everyone commented on the cards and that is exactly what we designers want; an outstanding look and feel for our projects.

At a recent AIGA event, I sat across from a designer
