Trapped in Your Comfort Zone? Break Out and Send Your Marketing Skyrocketing
A marketer whose advice I generally respect recently published an article about how to find your comfort zone and stick to it in your business in order to create a more harmonious work environment. In theory, it makes sense. Most of us have gone into business for ourselves to have more control over our own destinies, financially and otherwise. In reality, however, settling into a routine can wreak havoc on your marketing, making you complacent with small rewards when taking tiny risks could give you a major business boost.Small risks can't hurtRecently a large corporation I did some marketing work for developed a product that was head and shoulders above the anything like it anywhere in the world (really!) in terms of quality and price. We "oohed" and "ahhed" over the product and everyone wanted one. You'd think the company would want to

    Chinese Model Of Management
These models do not provide an exhaustive picture of the two cultures, but they do illustrate the fundamental differences between them. One question may arise regarding the Chinese model: Why should Confucian ideology and the past tradition, rather than other contemporary forces, be looked on as the working determinants for today's Chinese culture? An explanatory argument, not an answer to the question, could point to the following: 1) over the long history of the Chinese civilization, Confucian ideology has been firmly established as an undeniable system governing nearly all aspects of Chinese lives; 2) thousands of years of a feudalistic system have dominated the Chinese view of themselves and the world; 3) it is uniquely true that, to gain acceptance in China, new ideas have to be proved compatible with classics and tradition. Chinese values have continued to be priz
Rare is the man or woman that doesn’t find themselves having to communicate on a frequent basis, with someone who seems to argue or refute almost anything they say. It may be a spirited child or student, a spouse or significant other, an employee or employer. The fact of the matter is, some people are compelled to resist, and I know, because I’m a reformed “resister.”

While researcher’s are finally starting to ferret out some important data in support of this knee jerk reaction or resisting, research indicating that these unruly reactions may very well have a genetic basis, my own experience long ago validated that my own DNA was somehow involved.

I can still remember coming home from school, thinking about all of the things I was going to tell my parents about the day, and as excited as I may have been, the moment one of the said, “ What did you do at school today?” I was compelled to clam up; it literally felt like I was being interrogated, even though they had simply asked about my day. Get the Word Out with Press Release Distribution
If you have a small business, chances are that you're struggling to establish or maintain your market niche. To grow your business to the next level, you need to get the word out to your target audience. You probably don't have the budget to place prominent print advertising, much less television and radio advertising. As it turns out, the best advertising - and the most effective advertising - is free advertising, in the form of media interest generated from a press release. But, even if you write a press release, how do you master the art of press release distribution?Targeted press release distribution is one of the most powerful forms of marketing and advertising available. The value of the exposure your product or business will receive as a result of a television segment, a newspaper or magazine article is exponentially more than you'd receive as a result of paid

Your Spam Box Is A Pot of Gold
Most people would agree that the bulk mailbox fills up all too quickly with unwanted mail from every possible internet marketer trying to promote their goods and/or services. But, what if you as a business person could turn these unwanted emails into welcomed email? More junk mail may just be the way to more wealth. It seems so basic of a concept but it truly is a sensible way to get leads for your existing business. Imagine all that mail just waiting to be opened. Look for phone numbers, and other contact information contained within the body of the emails.Next, get busy sending emails out to these contacts and even calling these leads. The goal is to establish rapport with these business people. They do not want to be sold on your opportunity, however, there are many services you may be able to offer to assist them in their current business. There a

Six Tips for Confronting Negative Behaviors
It is a fact of organizational life – negative, unacceptable behaviors will happen. When they do, the leader must address them.I normally emphasize the benefits of encouraging positive, productive behaviors over punishing negative ones. However, my clients and seminar participants often ask questions like:- “What about team members who don’t want to play nice?” or- “What if I can’t find anything positive to reinforce?”The short answer is this: “Confront negative behaviors early and decisively.”When you fail to confront negative behaviors, you subtly signal acceptance of them. In effect, you encourage them to continue. As Admiral William F. Halsey said, “All problems become smaller if you don’t dodge them, but confront them.”Personally, I prefer encouraging people to disciplining them. Encouragement is more comfortable to me - th

    Public Relations' 8 Fix Factors
I say to business, non-profit and association managers, a key part of your job description is – or should be – do everything you can to help your organization’s public relations effort as it strives to persuade important outside stakeholders to your way of thinking. Especially when it’s YOUR PR program that is tasked to move those stakeholders to behaviors that lead to the success of YOUR department or division.Which is why I suggest that business, non-profit and association managers embrace what I call PR’s 8 fix factors, those steps necessary to prepare their public relations operation for the battles certain to lie ahead. The fix factors are based on this fundamental premise: People act on their own perception of the facts before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which something can be done. When we create, change or reinforce that op

When this occurred, I felt like I split into two different people; part of me was hell bent for leather, refusing to budge and give in, while another part of me was deeply saddened by the fact that I really wanted to share my day at school with them, but that I just couldn’t let myself.

Recent studies have shown that some people are wired neurologically in a way that makes their sensitivity to perceived stress much higher than for most. Notice I said perceived stress, because it’s all about perception; what seems like a harrowing experience for one person, may simply be the juice that makes life shine with passion for another. You might think of it like this, to the person that always resists the information you present them with, anything information that comes their way initially from someone other than themselves, is viewed as an intruder of sorts. They have a stress response, even to information that would be non-stressful to others.

If we begin to realize that these people will usually feel the need to refute and resist, then we can de
