In some cases, they’re pre-judging the quality of what they expect will issue from their pens and keyboards. “This’ll just be junk, so why bother?” is their attitude.
The problem is that this thought becomes the result of their inspiration, and not any tangible, written product. If they’d force themselves to write something, anything, immediately after being stimulated, they’d start to chip away at their blockages.
They’d be so busy working that they’d eliminate any possibility of worrying about the quality of the product that will come out. Then, having something accomplished, they could add to it, refining it later.
But they’d feel better, because they seized the moment. After doing this repeatedly, they’d form a new, productive work habit that would continue to serve them.

The same thing applies to selling and to any activity with which we procrastinate. Doing anything, no matter how seemingly insignificant breaks the inertia in which we’ve been stuck.
And, as any writer can attest, by forcing ourselves to do it now, we sometimes surprise everyone with our accomplishments, including the toughest critics of all—ourselves.
