CVs And Resumes Sometimes Just Get In The Way
As a head-hunter and Career Coach I see so many CVs and resumes that look as though they are designed to get in the way of what I (or any other recruiter) might need to know about you the candidate. They vary from pure meaningless waffle without any identifiable facts to lengthy tomes with so much detail they send me to sleep. And I persevere where many others wouldn't bother. My least favourite CV of recent times was seventeen pages long. The first page had only the candidate's name on it (you know who

Delegate to Accelerate Success (How to Prepare Yourself and Others for Success)
On the first season of the television reality show, The Apprentice, Donald Trump would give the ultimate winner the dream job of working for him, running one of his divisions and earning $250,000 per year. On the final episode, the choice came down to two candidates, Bill Rancic and Kwame Jackson, for the "ultimate" job. Both were very qualified. Bill Rancic was the owner of a successful Internet cigar business grossing over one million dollars a year, and Kwame Jackson was a graduate of Harvard Busi
Someone has emailed you that they are interested in your work. Or, you have a list of potential contacts from your leads group. Or maybe you're thinking about someone you want to cold-call, because they could really use what you are offering.

You are headed towards a conversation, which will end, you hope, with the other person saying "Yes, I'm buying!"

These conversations can be very painful, because they end, more often than not, with an "Ummm.... I'll think about it." I think the pain of this conversation ranks right up there with bone marrow transplants. Well, maybe not that bad. But, Lord it ain't good.

The pain of these conversations goes beyond awkwardness. It's so bad, because you really do want to help and be of service. I know I do. When I'm left feeling as if I'm bothering someone, I just want to quit. I didn't get into business to bother people- and if that's what I'm doing, I'll go back to being a paramedic.

    The Executive Resume: Power Writing
There is a great difference between submitting a resume and submitting an executive resume; that difference is the ambition in the writing. Usually, an executive resume is created for high positions, ones where the standard chronological format won't do. That one page limitation is never enough to fully explain why you are capable--if not perfect--for the job. So, instead, you create an executive resume, one the breaks a few of the standard rules and gives more detail. An executive resume is for those seeking m

    Hurricanes and Business Sales
If you are a salesperson and you know when you live in a hurricane area, then you also know that the potential for your sales commissions will drop drastically during the Atlantic tropical hurricane seasons. In the 2005 Atlantic tropical hurricane season we saw storm after storm and a season that lasted even through the new years.Imagine being a salesperson in the area and having all the phone lines down and many roads were un-crossable and power was out in many areas and you could not reach your potenti

    Six Money Making Ideas
Money making ideas are more fun to dream up than to follow through on, so I'll keep on dreaming and let the reader be the entrepreneur. Here are the latest ideas for businesses, services and products that might make some money for those who want to lead the way.1. Market search dogs directly to the public. Dogs work for police departments and search-and-rescue squads, but why limit them to these? Perhaps people would pay to have a dog find lost items, or track lost people that the police have given up try

    How To Incorporate In Arizona
It better for people starting a new venture to form a separate business entity such as a corporation, as it is a great way to protect personal assets and keep business separate from personal life as it offers liability protection, and many other benefits. It is very easy to incorporate in the state of Arizona.Incorporating In Arizona: It is necessary to be sure which kind of corporation you are going to form and take the necessary steps. Both Ramadan and Yom Kippur have an amazing process. It's called "fasting." Fasting is the process of abstaining. Abstaining from food, yes, but more than that. It's also an abstention from judgement, from "impure thoughts," from anything that fosters disconnection from your heart and from Spirit.

What do these holidays have to do with sales? The reason sales conversations are so awkward, is because there is an inherent inequality. Your prospect has a problem, and you have a solution. This puts you in a "superior" position.

And, the other side of the coin is that your prospect has money to pay you, and you don't have that money. This puts her (or him) in a "superior" position.

If you choose to be superior, they will choose to be superior, too. And, you end up butting heads. "I've got the answer!" "I've got the money!" And both of you trying to be superior, means everyone loses.
