    New Business Credit Cards
Business credit cards are available from a wide variety of sources - and with a wide range of terms and conditions. Some are secured on assets of one kind or another and some are available on an unsecured basis. As with all forms of finance, you need to know and understand the exact conditions under which the credit is being made available. One thing to look out for is early repayment penalties. Even if you do have the means to repay the credit early it could cost you extra in terms of a fee or penalty interest. Most credits are covered by various consumer credit laws. They now give you “cooling off” periods and a

Harnessing the Power of Business Roundtables
As a business owner, how often do you have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with other owners or executives about ideas? Many small- and medium-sized company owners and executives frequently feel they are working in a vacuum because they rarely have the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers and other professionals. Business roundtables enable owners to cash in on the roundtable's pool of experience and the expertise of skilled facilitators.Roundtables typically are comprised of business owners and CEOs who come together to share ideas, discuss challenges or concerns, and to learn new ways to approach old prob
On Monday the Department of Corporations in California revoked franchise registrations of two franchising companies. In a Press Release the Department said; “The CDC has taken enforcement actions that have resulted in the revoking of registration of two franchise businesses operating in California... also ordered to stop the offer and sale of unregistered franchises in the state.” There reasoning was that the two companies in question had not completed registration or sent in paper work on time or completed the forms. The Basics Of Buying A Small Business
A Small Business Is Bought and SoldIS THERE A SMALL-BUSINESS OWNER who has never considered selling his business? Probably not. Is there an individual with some money, talent, or an urge for independence (often only the last) who hasn't thought about owning his own business? The number of small businesses actually bought and sold, however, represents only a small fraction of those who have felt these urges. To many people, the desire to buy or sell is only a passing thought. Others find various ways to solve their problems or satisfy their ambitions. But sometimes an individual doesn't follow through because

Business Plans - The Rules of Forecasting, Part 2 of 2
This article completes our two-part discussion about the rules regarding forecasting that we apply in writing business plans. We share them with you in this article in the hope that you will find these rules worthy of adopting in your efforts to write business plans as well.Rule 5: Question basic assumptions. It is always a good exercise to question the basis for any assumption. You may find the basis is not defendable. You may even learn a better way to develop or present the assumption.Corollary 5A: When a forecast is developed around a spe

    Large Helium Balloons for Advertising
Jackyln is an executive for one of the largest companies in the mid-West. After the recent major between another firm in the Upper East Coast of Manhattan, the CEO wanted to go national. This meant Jacklyn and the others in the department will have to do a lot of advertising to capture the market. Since the budget for this to happen did not get any increases, this made it more challenging to accomplish the desired objective.Driving home from work, Jacklyn saw one shop that was using an inflatable balloon. The establishment had a promotional sale and this has somehow attracted some drivers to park nearby and

    Are You a Bobblehead?
I owned one in the form of a great dane. People mounted theirs on car dashboards or rear speaker panels. And when there was motion, the head would bobble while the body remained still. They were cute, drew attention, and posed little threat. Nobody had anything bad to say about them. And left alone, these ornaments would survive many years. But lately, I've noticed the same patterns in people...They exist rather than live. They devour a self-preservation diet. And not making waves becomes high priority. There's little improvement in their character or income. They plan their weekends better than

What the Department of Corporations did not tell you was that they are known in the franchising industry as being the most inept of all franchise registration states. The American Bar Associations franchise forum has had many a franchise attorney admonish the Department of Corporations. I can personally say we had our registration application in limbo for 10-months due to the Department of Corporations ridiculous bureaucracy. (I run the company; http://www..CarWashGuys.com ).
