    Choosing Your Next Corporate Event Planner
    It all depends on what you want. If you want a great event, you will need to select a great Corporate Event Planner. It is that simple. You need an event planner who will not only plan one, but will also produce a perfect memorable corporate event for you. Now, the problem is how to choose a good corporate event planner. You can go about the selection process in two ways. First, you know what type of event you want. You know the theme, the food and beverage, entertainment, the venue, the lights, the sound and the overall atmosphere. You only need to know the where and the how of it, and whether it is withi

    A Mistake Not Worth Repeating For The New Freelancer
    Many new freelancers who start out in their first projects have the unfortunate tendency to go in over their heads. I know for sure since it happened to… yours truly. I’m sure most freelancers can agree that when first starting out, they worry more about how you will find your next projects instead of focusing on the one they already have. Well, I happened to have found a quick project and upon looking at my qualifications, my employer thought it would be good to hire me for a different, longer term project. A freelancer’s dream, right? At least I thought so. It was my very first project and I t
    What kinds of things effect mobile service businesses P and L’s? Well this is an excellent question and as I see the Annual reports of companies who do mobile services, such as Ecolab, Service Master, Halliburton, Luftstanza Food Services, etc. I see many similarities. For instance we have noted as many of the others the climate conditions, El Nino effects, Mud Slides, road closures, snow. low temperatures, Hurricanes, etc.

    So obviously;

    (1) would be extreme weather conditions that affect the demand for such services, this could be both good and bad;

    (2) competition in the markets served by their Service Businesses;

    (3) Then there are the problems we have encountered in the Silicon Bay area on labor issues during the dot com days. No people to work; full employment and 3.1% unemployment are synonymous. 5% seems to be a good number in any state, it keeps the natives restless and all the work ethic of economies honest, so then we will call. Labor shortages or increases in wage rates effect service businesses of every sector. Well what else?

    (4) Well on everyone’s mind is health care, under funded pensions, which include health care and increased costs in that industry and the cost associated with parasite attorneys suing for ungodly amounts and costs malpractice suits? Unexpected increases in operating costs, such as healthcare insurance and HMO or perhaps PPO costs. But also realize after 9-11, insurance costs have nearly doubled in every industry. Ours included and the fixed site market participants as well; (

    5) Insurance Costs increases effect the bottom line as the liberals and attorneys attempt to make all that which is unequal, equal just the same, it is not and never will meanwhile all service business pay the price for these ideals as this country and it's service sector attempt to operate in an ever increasing sate of liberalist socialism. Did I say that? Yes, and it is true, because all this does effect our bottom lines in the service sector and is carried on in increased costs to consumers as an over burden tax on all we are and all we have built in the most free country on the face of this Earth. Enough on that subject.

    (6) Now let's talk about fuel costs. Yes increased fuel costs effect everyone and very much so in the mobile service sector therefore add fuel prices to a major set back in profitability expectations. The President is right we must be careful of our energy appetites and fuel needs, pay attention this effects everyone and of course the P and L of every service business known to mankind.

    (7) Well with the thought of transportation costs. Send a Thank-you Letter After the Interview
    There are several things you should do immediately after the interview, but one of the most important things you must do is to send a 'Thank-you letter'.Although this is not a cover letter in the traditional sense of the word this follow-up letter is a valuable device to follow up your interview. When you think about it, probably because not many people are thanked, especially for an interview, it works wonders to keep your name in their mind.Sending a short handwritten 'Thank-you letter' after the interview will only take you a couple of minutes, yet the effect could carry you through at l

    What To Do When Coaching Takes Criticism - 8 Things I Personally Try To Live By
    Coaching Prediction #3: There will be an increase in mainstream criticism of coaching and the self-help industry as a whole.First - don't get me wrong, I'm not fearmongering here. But experience tells me that with topics such as Law of Attraction gaining so much ground so rapidly, and Oprah taking on 'The Secret' and so on, there will be push-back.And the criticism will take many forms, some visible and some invisible - the latter even sometimes comes from family and friends.But here's the thing about criticism: most of the time I believe there's something in it that's of value,

    Publicity: When Calling a Reporter, Keep it Short
    When you are planning to call a reporter for the first time, it can help to imagine that you are a phone solicitor (albeit one with terrific, useful ideas).When phone solicitors call you, you don't want to hear a long explanation of their product. You just want to know the basics so you can make a quick decision and get back to work.That's why, in a first call or contact with a reporter, keep it short and sweet. Have one or two story ideas – no more – ready to convey.Don’t try what I call the "shotgun approach" — firing away with seven or eight ideas in the hope that one will hit the m

    PR: Let's Talk Fundamentals
    How much more fundamental can you get than this? As a business, non-profit or association manager, if you don’t get your most important outside audiences on your side, you will fail.To me, failure means key target audiences that don’t behave as you want them to. For example, capital donors or specifying sources who look the other way, customers who fail to make repeat purchases, community leaders working closely with your competitors, prospects still doing business with others, organizations looking elsewhere to propose new strategic alliances and joint ventures, and even legislators and political l

    (8) increased governmental regulation of all sorts. Now we can talk about the general across the board slowing of money flow due to not supply but rate of flow, which is actually the same thing since money supply is so relative really.

    (9) General economic conditions in the United States, especially as they consumer spending levels. We should also look at what we often discuss as the Chaos Theory, changing direction quickly is very important in the service sector more than anywhere else, as the consumers and Corporations move the direction of their expenditures, they vote with their dollars and must vote for you if you are to have nay kind of P and L at all. So then those costs associated with directional changes, training, marketing and overcoming delays with cash money for speed, ramp up cost money and the faster you go the more you pay. Ask any military commander or any previous commander in chief, moving things costs money, moving fast is a hyperbolic curve similar to that of co-efficients of drag which is apropos to this particular conversation;

    (10) time and expenses associated with integrating and winding down businesses; and other factors which cannot be seen or predicted unless you learn to study the game. It may appear to be a game of chance, but chances are it is neither. The strong survive, but only if they understand their bottom line and what affects it. Does this make sense to you?
