Fundraising Planning - A Vital Key to Nonprofit Success
As a professional grant writer and consultant, I am often amazed at how few nonprofit organizations actually have a fund development plan beyond a vague idea of applying for a few grants and sending out an annual appeal letter.Recognizing that lack of planning, I am not amazed at how often these same organizations have rounds of emergency budget cuts when they realize that they have no assured streams of income.Very typical is the agency that has received a large grant to run their programs for one year. Then, in the tenth month of the grant period, comes the realiz

Some of you are probably asking me, "Billy, I simply don't have time to post 100 ads a day by hand. How can I do this faster?" This is an excellent question. So what I did was use the search engine HotBot to look up "FREE Classified Ad Submission software" and I came up with thousands of links, but I only listed those below for you. You might try using a different search engine, or different words. I don't endorse any of these sites, nor do I know what results you'll get from any of these services or programs. As I said, I just spent a couple hours doing the research finding them. I haven't used them and I don't provide any support for ANY of these program

    The Extra Mile Principle
"To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." - Douglas AdamsThe sincerity and integrity mentioned in the above quote often leads to trust. Trust turns a prospect into a customer. For home-based businesses the customer is the lifeblood of the economic fuel that runs your business. You can have the hull of a business, but without the fuel of customer support you’re just a nice looking ship bobbing in the harbor. Without customers you aren’t going anywhere."People who concentrate
Free classifieds sites are everywhere on the internet. What are they, how do they work and are they really a place that you should advertise in? A free classified website is just what it sounds like.

A place where you can advertise for free, and other people can see your ads. That sounds like a great idea, and it is sometimes. The people that are advertising on free classified sites don't have to pay anything, and the people who run the sites get lots of free visitors that they would not have received otherwise.

The way they work is very simple. People come to the website either looking to buy a product or looking to advertise one (Most people just want to advertise). People who want to place ads can either do so directly, or they are required to log into a password system that gives them a free membership.

After you receive your free membership, you can place your ad. The webmasters who run the sites really have the best deal though. They can sell banner space in the site, or collect the e-mail addresses of the advertisers, and then turn around and sell them something else (Really a sweet deal if you think about it).

Think about it for a second. Most of the people who want free ads on your site probably aren't going to be looking to buy things because they can't even afford paid ads. Doesn't that make sense?

That is why I don't personally invest the time in using free ads. I'm not telling you that you shouldn't use free ads, I'm just warning you upfront that you are going to have to place AT LEAST 100 ADS A DAY, for several weeks before you start to see any results, if even then.

But if this is the only means you have at this time, then by all means use it. Don't pass up an opportunity to succeed just because a little work is involved. You will find that by using free classified sites you will become very aware of how to market on the internet. I just don't want you to be disillusioned before starting out on this adventure.

If you are intent on using free classifieds then the first thing you must do is have a quality headline for your ad.

Now that we know what the content of your ads will contain we need to talk about where you can place your ads. I've listed a couple classified ad sites below, but these are by no means all that there are. I suggest you go to any search engine, whether it be HotBot, Dogpile, Yahoo, Overture, whatever and type in "Free Classifieds". From that search you will get literally HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of places where you can advertise your ad.

    Five Rapport Selling Tips
Dale Carnegie wrote “When dealing with people remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity”Selling in financial services has gone through enormous changes. In 1986 I vividly recall going for a job interview with an American life assurance company based in the UK. I still remember the language being used by the sales directors. “Punters”, “Close 50% of sales”, “Prospects”, “Don’t leave without a signature”Nowadays, thankfully, his language and those sharp prac

    Yellow Page Ads No-No's -- Part 2
I’ll assume you have a Yellow Page ad and have been tracking the results. If you haven’t, then the next few sentences won’t mean much because I’m writing about the things that may be wrong with your ad. So, hopefully, you asked employees, friends, relatives and total strangers to rate your ad and tell you what they liked and didn’t like. So now you can read on. Let’s pretend the ad is basically fine, but not earth-shaking, The headline could use a little work (see Part 1 of this series) but the body is weak. Do you have a piece of artwork or photo? Does it support the tone, mood

    Choosing the Right Overhead Projector
Choosing the right Overhead Projector for your particular application can be difficult and confusing if you don't have any experience or background with this type of equipment. The Overhead projector certainly is not a complicated piece of Audio Visual Equipment to use, but purchasing the Overhead Projector that fits your needs is an important decision. The first thing that you need to consider is if your Overhead Projector will need to be portable or stationary. If your presentations require you to travel from location to location then you should certainly consider havi

Tales from the Corporate Frontlines:Choosing an Effective Employee Recognition Program
This article relates to the Recognition competency, commonly evaluated in employee satisfaction surveys. It tells the story of how one company found the right recognition program by paying attention to employee feedback. This competency also explores what type of behavior is appreciated and rewarded within your organization. Studies show that employees who receive regular recognition and praise are more likely to increase their individual productivity levels, increase engagement with their colleagues, and stay longer at the organization.
