Thankfully this is simple as there are a number of "directories of directories" and these allow you to choose directories based on a number of factors including; PR, ratings, niche or specialisation and even site history. The two most widely used directories of directories are: http://info.vilesilencer.com and www.directorycritic.com. Within these sites you will find thousands of potential directories to build one way links from.
What directory should I submit my website to?
Unless you want traffic now and are willing to pay for positioning at the top of established directories it is best to stick to the free directories that do not ask for reciprocal links. One should look for directories that have good categorisation, ie lots of categories, and where the category you are going to submit to is not in Google`s supplemental index (a quick search of the page url on google will show tell you if the page is supplemental or not).
