Now when I first got started, the traffic I was looking for from articles was search engine traffic. I was trying to get backlinks to give me search engine rankings that would be leveraged into search engine traffic. And that was very effective – I have several web pages that rank in the top 3 spots for certain keywords.

But the real shocker for me was the incredible amount of traffic I was getting just from direct hits to my web pages from the articles. They were reading the articles and clicking through to my web pages.

Once I realized this, I began to aggressively write articles, and have found that my traffic is directly proportional to the articles I write on a weekly basis.
