    In my research I have found color is closely related to demographics, such as age, race, income and profession. Consider your target audience. What colors may be appealing to them?

    Lets start with black. It relates to death, dark and evil, while white relates to purity, brides, and innocence. Colors like red (heart), orange (fire), and yellow (bright sun) cause anxiety and colors like blues (like oceans) and greens (fields) are more relaxing colors. Purple mean royalty, however it doesn’t occur in nature so emotions may be mixed.

    I have chosen tans and browns for my website. Browns and tans are known to relate to reliability, earth and abundance. Light browns relate to genuineness while dark browns mean solid ground. I plan to express all these attributes in my website, not only through colors, but also with copy, images, audio and other website components.
